News from our Assembly - 27 February 2019

The different levels and layers of mental health support available in our community were the focus of discussions at our public event back in February. If you couldn't attend take a look at what happened.

Mental health matters

We held one of our regular events to hear about new developments in local mental health services. We also held a discussion about how we are supported by our GPs to manage our mental health.

Key topics covered

  • Robert Dyer, Commissioner of children and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) highlighted a number of recent improvements to children's services.
  • We heard how Talk Wandsworth helps people manage less serious mental health problems, or can get them on the road to recovery following a crisis.
  • We had a taster of one of Talk Wandsworth's free wellbeing workshops.
  • We saw how the relatively new service, Primary Care Plus, can play a vital role in our mental well-being via our local GP surgery.
  • We discussed how to speak to GPs to help us manage our mental health.
