Healthwatch Wandsworth holds public events to discuss with local people key developments in health and social care. In March 2021 we held our second online public event via Zoom.
Our event focused on future priorities for public and patient involvement in health and social care.
We began by discussing what patient and public involvement is and our role in encouraging and supporting it. This is who we heard from and what we discussed:
- Mark Creelman, Locality Executive Director (Merton and Wandsworth) & Naomi Good, Engagement Manager for South West London CCG introduced us to what patient and public involvement happens in Wandsworth.
- We then discussed how we gather information to set our priorities and asked the attendees to help us prioritise our focus on a few things important to local people that their voice can contribute to.
- We then broke out in to smaller groups to discuss the following topics in more depth:
Your experiences of managing health and care
Working with Communities in Wandsworth
We have written a report drawing together some themes and experiences people shared with us during discussions on the day. This report can be found here.
We will use this information to inform our work over the coming year as well as encouraging people in charge of health and social care services to involve local people in developments discussed.
