For better health and social care

News from our last Assembly - 19 September

Often we hear local people say that communication with Doctors, Nurses and other healthcare professionals could be better, so at our last Assembly we focussed in on how healthcare professionals can involve us more in decisions about our care, how we can air our concerns and complaints in a constructive way and contribute to improvements to services.

James Godber from St George's Hospital spoke to us about how we can be more involved in decisions about our own healthcare. We heard from Stephanie Linden at POhWER, the independent advocacy service for NHS complaints. Last but not least, Don Power from the Quality Assurance Team at Wandsworth Council explained how to raise concerns with the council and how our feedback is used to improve services. For more from the day, see the attached presentations.

Our next event will be happening on the 12 December at St George's Hospital from 1pm onwards. We'll be looking at Wandsworth's new Health and Care Plan and will also be taking a closer look at what Primary Care transformation means for all of us. To book a place email enquiries@healthwatchwandsworth.co.uk or you can book via Eventbrite.
