About this event

From time to time the Wandsworth Learning Disability Healthcare Team (WLDHT) receive requests for help to support clients who hoard.

The NHS website defines a hoarder disorder as:

'Where someone acquires an excessive number of items and stores them in a chaotic manner, usually resulting in unmanageable amounts of clutter.  The items can be of little or no monetary value'

This pattern of behaviour is often established over a long period and can be very hard to change.  It can be demoralising for staff and family members who feel like they should be able to 'solve the problem'.
