Support for People Affected by Major Incidents
This month has seen the NHS responding to major incidents both here in the capital and further afield in Manchester. Our thoughts are with all those affected.
It is normal to have strong emotional responses to traumatic events and it is important to talk to each other, and those affected will especially benefit from being listened to.
There is a wide range of support available locally for anyone who may be experiencing distress. The NHS has now made available the following leaflet “Coping with stress following a major incident”, which contains further information. More information is also available on the NHS website.
If you need additional support consider talking to your GP or call NHS 111 if you are suffering from symptoms of anxiety such as depression, or post traumatic disorder.
