Improving Mental Health Services at Wandsworth Care Alliance

This Mental Health Month, we’d like to share a little more about two mental health projects at Wandsworth Care Alliance.

Katie Caserta has recently joined the team as Mental Health Projects Manager and is leading on their mental health projects – Voicing Views and LGBTQ+ Mental Health – to involve service users in the design and improvement of mental health services in the borough.

Voicing Views is specifically focussed on adults accessing mental health services in Wandsworth, and the LGBTQ+ project works with people of all ages who are part of the LGBTQ+ community who need mental health support.

As part of her work, Katie is setting up several ongoing face-to-face focus groups across mental health services in the borough, telephone interviews, and an online survey to capture service user’s feedback and suggestions for improvement. The aim is to empower service users to share their experiences and help shape the future of the mental health system, but also to provide a channel of communication between those using the services, decision-makers and service providers.

She is also working with the LGBTQ+ delivery network – a network of LGBTQ+ services in Wandsworth – to establish ways in which we can better support the community and help mental health services be more inclusive and accessible to the community.

If you’d like to share any ideas, experiences, or suggestions for improvement to the mental health services or system in Wandsworth, you can:
