Healthwatch Wandsworth have been connecting with services across the borough that engage children and young people with autism as part of their research project. Wandsworth is a borough rich in community spirit and exciting activities.

Access to nutritious and affordable food is an important and vital need, yet many residents in Wandsworth face significant barriers in accessing it. With the rising cost of living and the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, food insecurity has become a growing concern.

Every year on September 10th, World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD), a day dedicated to raising awareness about suicide, promoting mental health, and encouraging action to prevent one of the leading causes of death globally is marked. Suicide claims approximately 700,000 lives annually, with many more individuals attempting suicide. The day, initiated by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and endorsed by the World Health Organisation (WHO), encourages a global conversation around mental health, the importance of early intervention, and the need for supportive communities.

Wandsworth Care Alliance (WCA) are a charity that work for the wellbeing of the Wandsworth community. They deliver Healthwatch Wandsworth. WCA are organising a new programme, working with the health service, 6 partner non-profit organisations, and a university evaluation team to help people in Wandsworth get legal support and welfare advice.

Little Village HQ is the first Baby bank in the UK, supporting local parents most affected by the cost-of-living crisis to smile again. The baby bank is like a food bank, but it offers clothes, toys, furniture, and supplies for children under 5.
