For better health and social care

Healthwatch Wandsworth December Assembly - Presentations & Updates

Katie Denton, Director for Transforming Primary Care in Wandsworth, presented the CCG's plans for future high quality, accessible and coordinated primary care services. Whilst many people in Wandsworth are relatively happy with local health care services, there is some room for improvement. In order the address some of the gaps, the CCG plans to increase GP opening hours, provide more online access for booking appointments and will also be trialling online video consultations. We'll have feedback on the success of these measures at a future Assembly which we'll advertise on our website Home page.

Katie also gave a brief update on the local Health and Care Plan which is designed to help services work together more often and more effectively. The plan has three areas of focus: Start Well, Live Well and Age Well - areas based on available data, on feedback from local patient groups and a consultation event for locals to comment on the various elements of the Plan. A draft version of the Plan will be available next March (2019) but there will be further opportunities to consult on it after that. More information will be available on the Wandsworth CCG website.

Finally, Elizabeth Palmer updated us on quality improvement at St George's Hospital and there were highlights from our Enter & View team on some of their most recent visits, including HM Prison Wandsworth.

The presentations from the event are attached, along with our report which contains your feedback on the quality improvement plans for St George's and our recommendations.

Look out for more information on our next event which will be happening on the 27 February at South Thames College, from 10:45am.
