Have Your Say - Wandsworth Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2018
The purpose of a pharmaceutical needs assessment (PNA) is to identify whether current pharmaceutical service provision meets the needs of the population and where the gaps in service delivery are. Since April 2015 Wandsworth Health & Wellbeing Board (WHWB) has had a statutory responsibility to publish a pharmaceutical needs assessment. A first revised assessment falls due in 2018.
WHWB is also required to consult with any patient, consumer and community group in the borough who has an interest in the provision of pharmaceutical services. Additionally, most people living in Wandsworth may require assistance from local pharmacy services at some point, so the views of anyone living in the borough are also welcome.
At the time of the last assessment and following consideration of all the available information, WHWB concluded that there were no gaps in the provision of necessary pharmacy services in Wandsworth. However, in the light of new information gathered for the current assessment, WHWB would like the public’s views regarding the number, location and accessibility of pharmacies covering each locality in the borough.
The consultation on the draft Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment runs between 4th December 2017 and 5th February 2018. All feedback will help inform the final PNA which will be published by 1st April 2018.
