Posted on 03/07/2013
In 2010 the NHS, encouraged by the Office of the Prime Minister, decided to increase patient choice and improve value for money by outsourcing eight minor treatments and investigation packages. NHS South West London conducted a public consultation and patients and public were encouraged to indicate which services they thought would benefit most from outsourcing. This report is from Wandsworth Clinical Commissioning Group 'any qualified provider' project board 13 June 2013.
The changes in the NHS aim to empower patients and local clinicians to make decisions about NHS services in your area. Patients in England now have more choice and control over where to go for treatment, and can use patient power to make services better. This infographic explains how the new NHS is structured.
