For better health and social care

Perinatal Mental Health Focus Group

There is a need to improve support for women and their families who may be affected by mental health conditions during or after pregnancy. At the moment, south west London does not currently have a specialist perinatal community mental health team, however our local CCG would like to change this and need your support to make it happen.

With this in mind, the NHS will be holding a workshop to share your experiences of what women may want and expect from such a service. They would like as many relevant stakeholders (voluntary community sector, Maternity Voice Partnerships and Healthwatch organisations) as possible to get involved, and will be running a focus group and/or 1:1 conversations for service users in August to find out women’s views about support, accessibility of the service and how the service should look.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday 22nd August, from 4pm-6pm.

The aims of the workshop are to:

  • Raise awareness of this project
  • Find out where the project has got to so far
  • Understanding the impact of this work and the needs of particular groups in the community
  • Discuss and agree next steps

The workshop will be held at:

Room 6.2, 6th floor, 120 The Broadway, Wimbledon, SW19 1RH. Light refreshments will be provided.

If you would like to get involved, please contact Clare Thomas (Engagement Manager) - clare.thomas@swlondon.nhs.uk or call 0203 458 5231.
